First things first: I'm going to be writing on this blog much more frequently now. It's been nearly one full year since I've graduated college. Since then, I've accomplished a lot, but have so much more I want to explore. In all of my endeavors I'll continue to create videos and capture moments, but I'm going to add a textual element to these experiences moving forward. Although there are very few of you reading this right now, I appreciate that you're part of this journey!
Secondly: Starting the first day of summer, I'm going to begin daily vlogging my life. It's something I've thought about for the past 2 years and have always wanted to do. However, people fail to realize how much work it takes to keep up with a high quality daily vlog. I'm impressed by vloggers like Logan Paul, Casey Neistat, and others who manage to create entertaining daily content without fail. I finally have the time to document my daily adventures, my world travels, and my life through the lens. I'm so excited to share that with you soon.
Lastly (and most excitingly): I was chosen to move to round 2 of THIRDHOME's #BestJobOnThePlanet application process! I actually only heard about their contest 3 days before the 1 minute video application was due. When I read about the job requirements and qualifications for applicants, I said to myself, "This is me." I truly believe that I am the best person for this job and only time will tell if the folks at THIRDHOME agree! I'm sure that in the 17,000 applicants there are many other highly qualified people for the position. I will say this, however, I know that nobody wants it as much as I do. If there's one thing I've learned in my short time on this planet, it's that the only thing holding you back from anything you want, is yourself.
Things don't always go as planned...
We would've been coming back from St. Thomas today. That trip fell through, but hopefully the next trip will be all the more worth it. A lot of gigs have had hiccups, setbacks, and full-on failures, but that's what it takes to grow. You have to learn from your mistakes, start from the bottom, and put in the time to make something of nothing. Mike has been constantly improving his editing skills all while playing soccer at UT. I'll say it again. Mike is a savage. Work ethic can't be taught and it makes all the difference. I've improved a lot on my photography with the trusty steed Mr. 7DII. I'm glad I kept it even after upgrading to the Sony A7S II. Next week I fly back to NJ. Expect some really cool content soon, especially if it snows!
It's been a while...
Quick recap: I'm back in LA and Mike is at school in Tampa. Mike just shot and edited the University of Tampa Delta Zeta Recruitment video in a freaking ankle boot after injuring his ankle playing soccer. What a savage. I must say he did an incredible job with it too. Props to you brother!
We also have some exciting news that we'll be traveling to St. Thomas with a new client to shoot for 10 days in the Virgin Islands. The drone shots are going to be gorgeous. We're starting to get our name out there and we're excited to see where this goes. Here's a big thank you to those of you who read this in the future when we're a name people recognize :) #DreamBig
It's 1:43AM. Mike and I have been grinding in the studio for about 8 hours... straight. The second adventure video is finally finished and schedule to launch tomorrow at 12pm ET. I actually leave tomorrow to fly to Finland for a week to meet some companies. Slightly Above Average is growing, slowly but surely. We almost have 10,000 views on the first video of Summer 2016. Insanity! We also finished the website tonight, so hopefully if you're reading this, you've explored the site a bit :)

Weird. It's been "Summer 2016" since we got back from college in May. Yet, today is the longest day of the year and the official start of summer. We've already done a lot of cool stuff with the Kramer Krew this summer so far. For those of you who don't know, the "Kramer Krew" is our group of friends who travel around finding new places to do thrill seeking stuff like cliff jump, rope swing, paintball, race chairs, body surf in freezing water, and pretty much whatever we can get our hands on.
The first part of the group name 'Krame' comes from inspiration by Rory Kramer -- a thrill-seeker. I'm going to a new cliff jump spot on Wednesday with some of the guys from Leave Normal Behind (they are a movement group just like us). I'm going to keep this first post short. I hope you like our new website -- just wait until you see some of the content we have planned.
